"A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe." He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." -- Albert Einstein

ONE OF GOD'S AMAZING MIRACLES...
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that a female humpback whale had become entangled in a web of crab traps and lines. She had hundreds of yards of rope wrapped around her body and her tail, plus a heavy line tugging at her mouth. Although offering assistance was extremely dangerous, (a slap of her tail could easily have killed a man), a rescue team decided to try to save her. They worked for hours, slowly cutting away line after line. When she was free, she swam in circles, then came back to each diver and nudged him, as if to say thank you. Thank You God for sending Your rescuers to all of us whenever we are open and ready to receive them. Show us how to express our appreciation in an equally meaningful way.

Cats conserve energy by sleeping more than most animals, especially as they grow older. They usually sleep between 12–16 hours, with 13–14 being the average. Some cats can sleep as much as 20 hours in a 24-hour period. The term cat nap refers to the cat's ability to fall asleep (lightly) for a brief period and has entered the English lexicon – someone who nods off for a few minutes is said to be "taking a cat nap".
Thank You God, for the ability to also stop our "busyness" at will and to rest in the Silence with You.

ONE OF GOD'S AMAZING MIRACLES...
Goats are reputed to be willing to eat almost anything. Contrary to this reputation, they are quite fastidious in their habits, preferring to browse on the tips of woody shrubs and trees, as well as the occasional broad leaved plant.
Thank You God for discernment. Help us to always select the best things to nourish our bodies and our souls in the same way that Your goats do. |

ONE OF GOD'S AMAZING MIRACLES...
Rabbits are often associated with Easter. They serve as a symbol of innocence - as an animal that wishes harm on no one, a true Easter connotation. In addition, the rabbit is often used as a symbol of playful sexuality, which stems from its image of innocence, as well as its reputation as a prolific breeder.
Thank You God for these little symbols of innocence and purity of Spirit. Let us also be playful, gentle and guileless beings, filled with Joy and good Spirit.

ONE OF GOD'S AMAZING MIRACLES! Cattle occupy a unique role in human history, domesticated since at least the early Neolithic period. Some consider them the oldest form of wealth, and cattle raiding consequently the earliest form of theft. Their ability to provide meat and dairy while reproducing themselves and eating nothing but grass has furthered human interests dramatically through the millennia. Thank You God, for your gentle cows. Help us to be as free-spirited and willing to serve without judgment as they are.
